Browser Time vs Blackboard Time

In Blackboard, the time zone in the platform is automatically set based on data from the user’s internet browser (Computer/Tablet/Cellphone time). In courses, due dates and calendar items are responsive to users’ time zones and will depend on their actual location. However, discrepancies may arise since students’ browsers may display different times.

 

For example:

  • An instructor can set a due date of 12:00 AM Eastern time, and:

  • A student in the Pacific time zone will see a due date of 9:00 PM:
