Understanding Organizations in Blackboard Ultra

What is an “Organization” in Blackboard Ultra?

In Blackboard Ultra, Organizations function like courses but are used for training, support, and resource-sharing—not for credit-bearing classes.

If you are a Student

You might be enrolled in an Organization for things like:

  • The TTS Training Course
  • A Student Success Center
  • A program-specific resource hub

If you are Faculty

You will see Organizations if enrolled in spaces such as:

  • Faculty development or onboarding modules
  • Department or program resource hubs
  • Shared collaboration spaces for committees or working groups

Note: You will only see the “Organizations” tab if you’re enrolled in at least one.

Where to find it?

Click “Organizations” in the left-hand menu after logging into Blackboard.

Reminder: Organizations are not listed under “Courses.” They have a separate tab in the main menu for easy access.
