Chicago Campus Update 4/4/2025

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

I hope your term is going well and wishing you all the best as you wrap up your winter term classes and clinic.  Below is an update on the buildout of our new campus and some important announcements as we prepare to move and close out the current campus location.

New Campus Updates – 230 W Monroe Street Suite 900

• Construction is on schedule
  • Painting of the ceiling deck is complete
  • Painting of the walls and trim is nearing completion
  • Flooring and carpet installation is progressing from the south end to the north end
  • Low voltage cabling has started
  • Millwork scheduled to start next week
• Be on the lookout – Important announcements pertaining to accessing the new campus will be coming out later this month.  Please be on the lookout and ensure you review before your first day at the new campus.

• Tentative New Campus Tour and Open House – Assuming all goes as planned with the construction and moving of the campus, we plan to offer two New Campus Open Houses for all students and faculty as follows (attendance is optional, but recommended if you are available):
  • Friday May 2^nd
    • 10:00 – 11:00 am
    • 1:00 – 2:00 pm

The open houses will be confirmed as soon as possible and no later than April 30^th.  If you are unable to attend an open house, we will look to hold info sessions throughout the first week on campus.

Important! – Campus Move Preparations – 65 E Wacker Place

• Move preparation is on schedule (see calendar view below)
• As we are preparing for the move, we need everyone’s help as noted below:
  • Free Stuff (Items that we won’t move to the new campus)
    • Thanks to everyone for their help in finding new homes for items, more to come this week
    • Wall Poster Raffle – See email from Koraima sent 4/3/25 for details
    • Keep an eye out for additional raffles and options for large items over the next week
  • Students – Please Take Home All Personal Items
    • Please ensure that you take home all of your personal items by the end of the term.  This includes:
      • All locks and items in rented lockers
      • All Needle Kits
      • Any other personal items on campus
    • We will not be responsible for items left after the last day of the term.

• • On Ground Faculty and Supervisors
    • Please ensure that all your teaching materials are placed in plastic bins that have been placed in the faculty workroom or faculty office on 21 and are clearly labeled with your name.  Reach out if you need additional bins or a larger bin.
    • Please take home all personal items by the end of the term.

One final note.  I have raised concerns with the building about a number of issues, including the construction noise/dust, cold air drafts, lighting issues on 21 and also about the static feedback in the first elevator.  I have asked for them to address these issues ASAP and hope to see improvements next week.
