Indigenous-Inspired Energy Medicine Workshop

Join Lewis Mehl-Madrona, MD, PhD (Coyote Institute), Barbara Mainguy, MA (Coyote Institute), Bob Vetter, MA, and Caroline E. Ortiz, PhD, MPH, RN, NC-BC in New York City for a profound two-day immersive workshop:

Narrative-Based Somatic Practice for Care Providers
  • April 11-12, 2026, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST both days
  • Pacific College of Health and Science 110 William Street, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10038
This workshop is designed for practitioners and care providers who sense that healing is never only physical, never only emotional, and never separate from the stories people carry.

Over the course of two days, we will explore Indigenous-inspired approaches to healing that integrate narrative, somatic awareness, ceremony, and relational presence. Rooted in the wisdom of Indigenous North American traditions, this gathering offers a rare opportunity to engage healing not merely as intervention, but as sacred relationship.

Together, we’ll examine how personal stories shape the body, how embodied practice can open deeper channels of insight, and how care can become more attuned, humane, and transformative.

This is for those who are called to work at the meeting place of story, spirit, and healing.
For those who want to deepen their practice not only with new tools, but with deeper ways of seeing.

 You’ll be invited to explore:
  • Narrative-based approaches to uncovering the deeper meanings within illness, suffering, and life experience
  • Somatic practices that support grounded presence and embodied healing
  • Indigenous-informed frameworks for integrating ceremony, story, and mind-body-spirit care
  • More relational and holistic approaches to healing work with individuals and communities
  • The role of meaning, memory, and embodiment in transformation

Some workshops give information. Others shift the way we practice, listen, and serve. This one is meant to do the latter.
