IMPORTANT: Update on San Diego and Chicago Campus Transition to SCU

Dear Students,

Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) is excited to begin working with our learning community to ensure a smooth transition that preserves the experiences you value at Pacific College of Health and Science (PCHS).

As previously communicated, pending approval from the appropriate regulatory bodies, we anticipate that our Chicago and San Diego students, faculty, and staff will officially join SCU on or about April 20, 2026.

One of the most important steps in preparing for your transition to SCU involves transferring your student information to SCU.  We understand the sensitivity of sharing personal information, and we are therefore providing you with this notice prior to the transfer of any information to SCU. In particular, PCHS intends to share with SCU information from your education record, including documentation related to your admissions application, your academic performance (including PCHS and prior transcripts), your program of study and enrollment history, any transfer credit evaluations, your financial aid eligibility status and account information, and your contact information.  The purpose of providing this information to SCU is to facilitate a seamless transfer by April 2026.  SCU will maintain the confidentiality of your student information in the same manner it maintains confidentiality with respect to its current students.

If you are planning to maintain enrollment at PCHS and transition to SCU, there is nothing you need to do. Per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, PCHS is permitted to share your personally identifiable student information if you intend to continue your enrollment after the campus you are attending transitions to SCU. If you do not plan to continue your enrollment when your program moves to SCU you may opt out of having your student information transferred by notifying PCHS at [email protected] before November 8th, 2025. Please include your full name, student ID, and PCHS email address in the notification.  If we do not receive an opt-out notice from you by that date, your records will be shared with SCU to ensure your academic information transitions smoothly.  If you subsequently determine you do not want to transition to SCU, please notify SCU and/or PCHS and SCU will delete your student information from their system.

We’ll be sharing more details and opportunities to learn about SCU’s community, academic environment, and what to expect during the transition. Our goal is to make this process clear, supportive, and straightforward for you. If you have any questions, email [email protected].

Warm Regards,
PCHS Leadership
